Blow to plan for telecoms ‘super’ regulator

Plans to establish a “super” regulator to help govern Europe’s €300bn-a-year electronic communications market could be watered down amid opposition from the European parliament.

Viviane Reding, EU telecoms commissioner, has proposed setting up a pan-European agency to bolster competition and ensure that sector rules are applied consistently across the union of 27 countries.
