Iraq political violence falls

Political violence in Iraq appears to have declined significantly, with the US military suffering its lowest monthly death toll in May since the 2003 invasion, and reports of Iraqi civilian deaths also considerably lower than previous months.

Nineteen US deaths were reported in May, and two other members of the US-led coalition - soldiers from Georgia - were reported killed.
