There was broadly positive reaction on Thursday to Labour’s proposals to modernise the copyright and intellectual property regimes in its new business manifesto.

The government earlier seized on the importance of the creative industries to the UK economy, saying it wanted an environment where businesses could invest in talent “knowing they will get a proper reward for their investment”.
