If you drive north out of Nebraska, through a town called Alliance, along state highway 87, a curious sight will greet you about 100m beyond Berea Creek. A replica of the UK’s Stonehenge has been erected in the middle of a dusty field.
With the same dimensions as the ancient monument, it looks identical in all but one important respect: the Nebraska version, built 20 years ago as a memorial sculpture, is made out of old vehicles.
