Sarkozy appoints Mitterrand scion

Nicolas Sarkozy, the French president, on Tuesday carried out a bigger than expected reshuffle of his government by bringing in new recruits from outside his centre-right UMP party.

The big surprise of the new team was Frédéric Mitterrand, nephew of François Mitterrand, the former socialist president, who takes over the prestigious post of culture minister.
