China said yesterday it had "grave concern" about the International Criminal Court's decision to file charges of genocide against Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir, Geoff Dyer reports from Beijing.
At a briefing in Beijing, Liu Jianchao, Chinese foreign ministry spokesman, said the indictment could cause further instability in the region. "China expresses grave concern and worry about the International Criminal Court prosecutor's indictment of the Sudanese leader," he said.
