British businessman Mark Thatcher on Friday denied being part of a web of financiers accused of plotting a coup in Equatorial Guinea, saying his social contacts were not necessarily business partners.
The 51-year-old son of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, who reached a plea deal with South Africa on the case last month, appeared in court under a prior agreement to answer questions submitted by prosecutors from Equatorial Guinea.
