AstraZeneca boosted by Crestor sales

A surge in sales of cholesterol drug Crestor, combined with strong demand from emerging markets, has boosted revenues at AstraZeneca the Anglo-Swedish drugmaker, although the company kept its full-year earnings forecasts unchanged.

“We are certainly recession-resistant, but we’re not recession-proof,” said Simon Lowth, chief financial officer.
