Overview: Sharp fall in oil sparks late rally in equities

Global equity markets endured another turbulent session on Tuesday, and a sharp fall in oil prices sparked a later afternoon rally for Wall Street.

US crude oil fell $5.33 on Tuesday to settle at $136.04 a barrel in New York, down sharply from its record high of $145.85 last week.
