Sir, Sharmila Devi's article on Moshe Safdie ("Architect battles for a new Jerusalem", August 14) fails to point out some interesting contradictions regarding this self-described "left-of-centre architect". While maintaining that he systematically said No to building in settlements, and that he laments the West Bank wall and the "damage being caused to villages and communities", he fails to mention the other "Safdie Master Plan" in the Al-Bustan neighbourhood of Silwan, an illegally annexed Palestinian village near Jerusalem's Old City.
