Restructuring codes: Chapter 11 is often lost in translation

The unravelling of Italian dairy producer Parmalat in December 2003 marked a watershed in Italian restructurings by triggering a rewrite of the country’s insolvency law.

This brought the regime more in line with the US Chapter 11 process.
