LSE in first win against Amsterdam

London Stock Exchange’s attempts to win back hedge fund listings from NYSE Euronext’s Amsterdam venue have notched up their first success as a Russian private equity fund listed on a new LSE market segment designed for such vehicles.

The launch of the Specialist Fund Market, as the segment is known, was unveiled nine months ago as part of an effort by the LSE to combat NYSE Euronext, whose Amsterdam market has emerged as a rival for listed private equity, property and hedge funds.
