Showers damp outlook for Severn

The summer’s poor weather put a damper on the consumption of water, Severn Trent said on Tuesday.

In an interim statement, the company confirmed revenue this year was likely to fall by £12m to £14m, or about 1 per cent, after customers left their hoses and sprinklers in the garage and let the British rain do its worst.
