Dollar slides after Fed cuts rates

The dollar fell to a ten-week low against the euro on Tuesday after the Federal Reserve cut interest rates by more than expected.

The Fed said it was establishing a new target range of 0 per cent to 0.25 per cent for its main Fed funds lending rate. Analysts had expected the central bank to lower rates by 50 basis points to 0.5 per cent.
