* Double the size of the Gucci brand - 2003 sales of €1.5bn (£1bn) - within seven years, with 10 per cent annual sales growth. Exploit opportunities in Asia and move into India in 2006.

* Develop products more in line with YSL's DNA (lighter and less intimidating stores, better balance between day and evening wear).
