Advertising decline hits Yell

Yell, the heavily indebted publisher of the UK’s Yellow Pages, is expecting a 12 per cent drop in sales in the three months to March amid an “unprecedented” decline in advertising business.

The company also warned on Thursday that there was no sign of a return to growth because of the worsening financial crisis and decline in advertising spend. The shares fell 5 per cent, or 2½p, to 47¾p.
