EU court to rule on forced retirement at 65

Thousands of UK age discrimination claims depend on a test case in the European Union's highest court this week on whether workers can be forced to retire at 65.

Employers hope that the case will finally provide clear guidance on compulsory retirement provisions, 19 months after legislation barring age bias in the workplace came into force.
