Cap set on number of large and small casinos

The expansion of casinos planned under the government's controversial gambling bill is set to be scaled back even further next week, dashing the hopes of British casino operators.

A cap will be set on the number of small and large casinos allowed under the new legislation, following an earlier cap on the largest super-casinos, known as "regional casinos", which are similar in size to the resort-style properties on the Las Vegas strip.
