On the same day this week that the UN General Assembly urged the US to lift its embargo of Cuba, Bob Riley, governor of Alabama, was talking about adding another Caribbean island to the blacklist.
Riley wrote to his 49 fellow governors proposing a US boycott of Aruba, a Dutch territory of 103,000 people, off the coast of Venezuela. He is angry about Aruba's alleged mishandling of an investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, an Alabama student, on the holiday island in May.
