Crisis sees European banks raising the pace

Barclays Capital, Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse are a bit breathless at the moment.

For the past six months, the three European banks have been trying to outrun the banking crisis by generating profits in foreign currency trading, flow trading and equities. But how long can they keep up the pace?
