Bridgestone pulls out of F1

Formula One on Monday suffered the loss of its exclusive tyre supplier when Bridgestone said it would pull out of the sport at the end of next season to save costs.

The decision by the Japanese tyremaker adds to the list of challenges facing Jean Todt, the former Ferrari team boss who won a bitterly contested election for president of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, world motorsport’s governing body, last month.
