Moussavi vows to end ‘extremism’ in Iran

Mir-Hossein Moussavi, the leading Iranian presidential candidate seeking to unseat Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad in June’s election, has pledged to end “extremism”.

Mr Moussavi, 69, said on Monday that he would pursue “detente” with the west, without compromising Iran’s commitment to its nuclear programme.
