Go-Ahead predicts ‘modest’ rail growth

Go-Ahead Group, the bus and rail operator, expects “modest” growth in its rail business this year in spite of difficult economic conditions.

The anticipated growth reflects the relative robustness of UK rail demand in the face of the economic downturn. While several operators have reported nearly stagnant or slightly falling passenger numbers, few have seen the outright falls that were experienced in previous recessions.
