Brown floats global bank tax

Finance ministers and central bankers from the Group of 20 leading economies stressed that the recovery from global recession “is uneven and remains dependent on policy support”.

Meeting in St Andrews, Scotland, they pledged to maintain policies to support faster growth in a meeting that was overshadowed by a row over the possible introduction of a global tax on financial transactions.
