Yen weakness boosts Tokyo shares

Japanese stocks rose strongly on Tuesday, boosted by the yen’s weakness against the dollar.

The Nikkei 225 stock average jumped 1.6 per cent to 13,738.84, a fresh four-year closing high, while the Topix index gained a more modest 0.7 per cent to 1,421.83.
