Tata to use Virgin Mobile brand in India

Tata, the Indian industrial group, on Sunday unveiled an agreement with Sir Richard Branson to launch Virgin Mobile in India as it challenges larger rivals for part of the world’s fastest-growing mobile phone market.

Mr Branson said the brand would target young Indians under a franchise agreement with Tata Teleservices. Half of India’s 1.1bn population are under 25.
