Royal Mail workers walk out

Royal Mail warned customers to expect “severe disruption” on Thursday after talks with the Communication and Workers Union (CWU) failed to avert an immediate 48-hour strike.

Some 130,000 union-members walked out in a row over pay, pensions, and union fears of job cuts. The 48-hour strike will affect postal services across the UK. A second two-day strike is scheduled for Monday morning.
