While the world economy sags, India’s lawyers are enjoying a boom. Lead partners at the country’s commercial law firms are now earning over $1m a year.
“Corporate [lawyer] salaries have exploded. They are going up by 20 to 40 per cent,” says Anand Prasad, a partner at Trilegal, a law firm with offices in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
