US President George W. Bush on Monday dismissed suggestions he should alter his policies to win over opponents in the Muslim world, insisting his desire to promote democracy and freedom were echoed by the majority of people around the world.
Speaking during a seven-hour visit to Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim nation, at the end of his Asian tour, Mr Bush welcomed the fact that thousands of people had been demonstrating for days across the sprawling archipelago against his visit and policies in Iraq and the Middle East.
