St Modwen Properties, a specialist in regeneration and development of brownfield land, warned on Friday that it was taking a cautious view on speculative development but reassured that growth in net asset value would be maintained in 2008.

In an interim trading statement covering the first quarter of this year, St Modwen said that market conditions remained uncertain, and macro-economic signals had undoubtedly deteriorated.
