Bureaucrats see EU’s teenagers come of age

For most bureaucrats in Brussels and the national diplomats who negotiate with them on the affairs of the European Union, the one institution that they all love to hate is the European parliament.

In private, they talk about the 736 directly elected members of the assembly as if they were tiresome teenagers who throw tantrums at just the wrong moment.
