Iberia investors could get 40% in BA merger

British Airways shareholders could receive a smaller stake than first envisaged in the airline group to be created by the planned merger of the UK flag carrier with Spain’s Iberia.

Negotiators for Iberia have been pushing for shareholders in the Spanish national airline to receive a holding of about 40 per cent, rather than the 33 per cent first indicated when the merger talks were disclosed at the end of July.
