Twenty eight years after President Olusegun Obasanjo became Nigeria’s first military ruler to have handed power to a civilian regime, he is once again in charge of a pivotal transition.

Now presiding over the longest uninterrupted period of civilian rule in Nigeria, he is set to make history again by seeing through the first transfer of power from one civilian president to another in Africa’s most populous country.
