The next 12 months could bring the most dramatic change in financial services regulation in decades, as governments try to tackle the causes of, and fallout from, the global downturn. Plans are moving forward to tighten the rules on everything from hedge funds and over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives to mortgages and basic bank capital requirements.
