Judge attacks Sarbanes-Oxley legislation

An influential US judge launched a ferocious attack on the Sarbanes-Oxley legislation on Tuesday and warned federal legislators to “stay in [their] lane” and leave corporation law to individual states.

In a speech in London, Judge Leo Strine, a vice-chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery, also criticised docile mutual funds and powerful US state pension funds for having clashing agendas in their dealings with business.
