Looking back, there was a supreme irony in Guy Moar’s promotion in May 2006.

Mr Moar, a successful Lehman Brothers banker, was moved from Asia to Europe to head what Lehman predicted would be a massive European credit crunch that would throw up big business opportunities for banks to restructure companies’ debts.
