Businesses act against recession

UK businesses are taking action to cut costs and preserve cashflow as the fear of a recession takes hold, according to research released today. A survey of 500 small- and medium-sized businesses by MacIntyre Hudson, the chartered accountants, revealed 84 per cent believed there had been a significant deterioration in the overall economic climate for businesses in the past year.

Over half said trading conditions in their own business had become more difficult.
