Icap drops 15% and takes pole position in widespread slump

Icap , the inter-dealer broker was the biggest faller as the FTSE 100 dropped 3.9 per cent to its lowest level in more than two years.

Icap shares fell 15.3 per cent to 506½p unsettled by the poor performance of a US rival.
