Executive pay: A long-term perspective may be the way to retain talent

After strong growth in recent years, executive compensation at large corporations is the subject of furious criticism, with US President Barack Obama seeking limits on pay of executives in organisations that have accepted government money.

Yet, simply limiting executive remuneration will not solve the problem of how to attract, retain and motivate the most talented managers.
