Audit finds Olympic budget shortfall

A forensic investigation has been launched into the discovery of a shortfall of up to £100m in the London Development Agency’s 2012 Olympics budget.

An audit of the LDA accounts found the body, which is directed by Boris Johnson, London mayor, had failed to budget for some payments to displaced businesses relocated from the land needed for the games, which could total between £60m and £100m.
