Blogs have sparked a profound change in the way the outside world perceives business schools. Since 2002, 133m blogs in 81 different languages have been indexed by Technocrati, a blog content index. A recent search of this index showed that about 121,000 blog posts mentioned the term "MBA" and more than 10,000 blogs had the "tag" MBA as a key word.

MBA student blogs often provide detailed accounts of events in the classroom and are having the greatest impact on business schools today. Unless schools come to grips quickly with the influence and impact of blogging on their reputations they will find themselves losing the marketing battle.
