G8 talks resume on trade and debt relief

Leaders of the Group of Eight industrialised countries were set to resume their discussions on Friday, 24 hours after the mood of the meeting was irrevocably changed by a series of bombings in London.

Tony Blair, UK prime minister, returned to the summit which he is chairing late on Thursday after being forced to return to London to head a series of security meetings in response to the terrorist attacks.
