Zimbra purchase boosts Yahoo’s profile

Competition for corporate e-mail accounts increased on Monday as Yahoo announced an acquisition that would enable it to rival the services of Microsoft and Google for enterprise customers.

Yahoo said it was buying Zimbra, which offers web-based e-mail and collaboration software, for about $350m.
