Doha round faces long and winding road

What is notable about the current round of trade talks is not how they are progressing but that they are progressing at all.

This year is the test of whether there is enough momentum behind the Doha round of trade liberalisation discussions to reach a deal. Almost nobody expects one before December's World Trade Organisation ministerial meeting in Hong Kong. But it should at least be clear by then whether agreement is even possible.
