Stay-at-home diners bolster Greencore

Frozen Yorkshire puddings and ready-made sushi have helped Greencore mitigate some of the damage from currency fluctuations that pushed the Ireland-based foods group into a half-year loss and prompted it to cut its dividend.

Greencore’s “rebasing” of its dividend will see the pay-out drop to 40 to 50 per cent of earnings per share this year, making for an interim distribution of 3 cents, down from 5.3 cents last year.
