Ted Baker expects another bad year for retail

Ted Baker warned that next year could be as bad for retailers as this year, as the designer label announced an 18 per cent fall in first-half pre-tax profits from £7.4m to £6m ($11.9m to $9.6m).

Ray Kelvin, chief executive, said: “Next year will be pretty much the same as this year, and people will start to realise this is the new normal.”
