Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), one of the main mobile operators in Russia, has appointed Mikhail Shamolin as president and CEO.

Mr Shamolin, who has served as the head of MTS Russia, replaces Leonid Melamed, who becomes CEO at Sistema, a consumer-services company in Russia, and MTS’s majority shareholder.
