The Ingrian Finns are Finland’s largest recent immigrant community, so their experience demonstrates the challenges the country faces as it tries to attract and integrate newcomers.

The Ingrians are descendents of Finnish peasant settlers in the St Petersburg region in the 17th century when it was part of the Swedish empire.
