Hewlett-Packard to cut 25,000 jobs

The US jobs market was dealt a fresh blow on Monday when Hewlett-Packard, the world’s biggest information technology group, announced plans to cut nearly 25,000 jobs - about half of them in the US.

HP said it would cut 24,600 employees over three years as it moved to integrate Electronic Data Systems, the world’s second-biggest information technology services company, into the computer conglomerate.
