Few investors escape shockwaves

Shockwaves from the Bear Stearns rescue will be felt at many levels, from institutional advisers, pension schemes and fund managers, right down to small private individuals and borrowers.

Private investors who hold UK and US stocks took a big hit yesterday as equity markets experienced a large sell-off on both sides of the Atlantic.
